Pope from what I can see in your gif video.. you were fighting tougher monsters... so basically your health bar isnt decreasing bc you were being instantly killed by the enemies... try to raise back the fase to 1 

The fase says wich area of the game you are currently in.... Stages are just the scenes and enemies you are fighting...
